The DAGA-conference will take place in Nuremberg in 2015 for the first time.
Nuremberg was first mentioned in a document in 1050. The history that followed was rich in tradition and events. The city with its imperial castle often served as the residence for German emperors. Nuremberg experienced one of its cultural flowering in the Middle Ages and it was one of the most significant cultural centres of the Renaissance. Nuremberg’s culture is closely linked to the name of Albrecht Dürer and one of his famous works - “Dürer’s Hare”- gave the inspiration for the conference logo.
Today Nuremberg, as the center of the metropolitan region comprising the cities of Nuremberg, Erlangen and Fürth, is one of Germany’s leading economic regions. The University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, organizing this conference, is the main institution for higher education out of a total of sixteen universities and colleges in this region. With the development of the MP3 format at the Fraunhofer Institute IIS in cooperation with the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg worldwide fame on the field of acoustics could be achieved.
We are looking forward to an interesting and fascinating DAGA-conference with many new findings, ideas as well as good discussions and would like to cordially invite you to visit the gorgeous “Dürer”-city.
With kind regards
